To use the reverse auction tool at www.sourcing4oem.com (either as a buyer or a seller)  you first need to become a registered user. This is free and you can register by clicking here.

Below are descriptions on how to set up a reverse auction, bid on a reverse auction and award the winner.

If you have questions or comments, please post these in our forum.

 

How to set up a reverse auction

1. Login.

2. Click on "Reverse auction tool" in the main menu.

3. Click on "New auction" in the reverse auction menu. Now you will be able to enter the details for your auction. See picture below. Fill in the details as follow:

- Auction type: Choose "Public Auction" if the bids and details are to be public or choose "Private Auction" if you do not want to show them.

- Title: Choose a suitable title for your auction

- Category: Choose the category to wich the product(s) belong to.

- Published: Choose "yes" or "no" depending if you want the auction to be showed on the site or not.

- NDA file: Upload your own Non Disclosure Agreement if you have such .

- Tags: Write tags (keywords) to make your auction easier to find when searching.

- Short Description and Description: Fill in all details for the products that are up for auction and your requirements.

- Attachment file: You can attach 1 file to each auction. The formats supported are ZIP,RAR,GZ,TGZ,DOC,jpg,pdf

- Maximum Accepted bid: The top bid accepted.

- Job Deadline: The number of days until the job should be done. (Mostly applicable if  bidding for a service to be done.)

- Start and End date: Between these dates bidding is possible.

- Show number of bidders Yes/No: Choose if you want this to be showned for the bidders.

- Show best bid: Choose if you want this to be showed for the bidders.

4. Click the "Save"-button on top of the page.

 

Now your auction is available for bidding!

How to bid on a reverse auction

1. Login.

2. Click on "Reverse auction tool" in the main menu.

3. Click on "Auctions" in the reverse auction menu.

4. Find the auction you want to bid on. Click on the title.

5. Fill in your bid and click "Send bid". (See picture below)

Simple as that! Now you have bid on a reverse auction!

How to award a winner for a auction

1. Login.

2. Click on "Reverse auction tool" in the main menu.

3. Click on "My Auctions" in the reverse auction menu.

4. Click on the title of your auction that you want to award the winner for.

5. Study the bids, click on "accept" for the bid you want to choose. See picture below.

6. The auction will be closed for new bids and the status of the bid in the auction will be changed to green colour. The winner will be notified by email.

As simple as that you have completed a reverse auction and awarded a winner for your auction!

 

To find the auction again and view the history, click "Auctions" in the reverse auction menu, and sort by archieved auctions.
