There are several different ways of purchasing goods. But for business to business and professional purchasing it is very important that the purchase order is in writing and contain the information that could be needed to avoid disputes later on. After the acceptance from the seller of the purchase order, there is a contractual agreement between the buyer and the seller. That's also why it is so important that the acceptance should be confirmed by writing.

Basically a purchase order atleast should contain the following:
- The name of the seller
- The name of the purchaser
- Delivery address
- Invoice address
- Price and quantity of the product or products
- Delivery date
- Terms of payment
- Terms of delivery

Nick   |94.196.40.xxx |2009-09-09 09:40:44 Perhapos he lacks the knowledge because he isn't usually part of the the sales/invoice chain and doesn't normally issues PO's. and perhaps that the people who would normally have this informtion in the buying company do lack the knowledge because issuing PO's is not normally part of their purchasing process as their legal system does not afford the buyers the same protection we get from having a signed PO. Therefor, they would lack the knowledge, specifically becuase they are from a third world country. Note no one is insulting anyone here, or jumping to conclusions, other than you Richard.
